Still Gonna Try

Still Gonna Try” marks a bold leap forward in both sound and storytelling. Departing from his signature alt-country roots, this track dives headfirst into the raw energy of rock ’n’ roll, channeling the spirit of his musical heroes while navigating the wreckage of a shattered heart. It’s a fearless evolution — gritty, honest, and unflinchingly human. Produced by acclaimed producer Kevin Bowe, this song captures an artist in transformation, unafraid to break new ground.

It’s included in Joe’s upcoming EP of the same name, “Still Gonna Try”, on Friday, August 15, 2025

Superman

"Superman," from Joe’s 2018 release The Superman EP, stands as one of his most poignant and finely crafted songs. With rich, evocative lyrics that breathe life into a cast of deeply human characters, the track weaves a narrative of connection, struggle, and hope. Musically, it nods to the anthemic sound of late ’90s American rock while staying grounded in its roots with the warm twang of a banjo — a perfect blend of grit and heart. Superman is a standout moment in Joe’s catalog, where storytelling and sound collide with emotional impact.

Go West, Ol’ Charley

Released in 2017 on Joe’s debut EP Workin’ Too Hard, "Go West, Ol’ Charley" charges out of the gate with grit, swagger, and a whole lot of soul. Featuring The Ramblin’ Mercenaries — Joe Anderson (electric guitar), Jake Anderson (drums), and Dan Neale (lead guitar) — this high-energy track blends barroom stomp with a storyteller’s heart. Produced by Kevin Bowe, who also lends his talents on bass and vocals, the song is further elevated by Ian Carleton’s rollicking piano and Claire Williams’ rich vocal harmonies. It’s a full-band, full-throttle anthem that marked the arrival of a distinct and driving voice in Americana rock.
